Michael Stratton recently makes his professional MMA debut

GBRP’s Michael Stratton recently made his professional MMA debut at the Cage Combat Fight Championship on April 24th. He won two minutes into the first round by rear-naked choke.

Michael has been a loyal and dedicated student for several years. He generally trains 5-6 times a week, often 2-3 consecutive classes a day. He is highly skilled and yet his dedication, focus, and effort level never falter. He participates in every one of the academy’s programs available to him. He trains in our Fundamentals, Advanced, Advanced No-Gi, and Black Belt MMA programs.

His hard work and commitment were definitely evident in his fight. The first big punch his opponent threw, Michael dropped his level and shot in for a double leg takedown. Once the fight was on the ground, Michael took his opponent’s back almost instantly, put his hooks in, and worked for the rear-naked choke. It was a clean, dominant display of the power of jiu jistu in a skilled practitioner.

Prof. Fabiana Gets First Black Belt Stripe!

Prof. Bill recently promoted Prof. Fabiana with the first stripe on her black belt. She does a lot for the academy, she is the head instructor for our Future Champions program and Women's Program, and also is an instructor for the Advanced program. And of course, she does countless things for the academy behind the scenes. She's a huge part of our growth and success.

I know receiving a stripe on a black belt is a big accomplishment, especially for a female. She also recently manifested her connection with the school with Gracie Barra tattoo.
